I was commissioned to write and illustrate two children’s books for Tesco in 2004,
The Little Tree and Charlie and the Flying Dog.

The original idea for the Little Tree came from a Christmas card I made with a plain little tree that unfolded to become a decorated tree, the idea was expanded and included a page of stickers ofdecorations and a page with a plain tree so that children could make their own Christmas tree.

Charlie and the Flying dog was based on an idea about a child who travels the world decorating animals with his new box of paints. Among others he paints the patches on a giraffe, the stripes on a zebra and the spots on the fishes in the sea.
